Vitalkeep is a product of Ingeniatic Desarrollo, S.L., a small engineering company based in Murcia, Spain, founded by engineers who have spent more than a decade building monitoring systems and IoT platforms for industry. One day, several of us found ourselves in the same place: ageing parents living alone, daily phone calls just to make sure everything was fine, and that constant feeling of being too far away to do anything.
The solutions on the market felt cold. Cameras in the living room, microphones listening, wristbands that only help once something bad has already happened. So we decided to do what we know how to do: take the technology we use in factories and hospitals and bring it to the most important place in the world — the home of our parents.
That no son or daughter should have to choose between respecting their parents’ independence and knowing that they are safe. Vitalkeep alerts you only when it matters: if there’s a fall, if something unusual happens, if the daily routine breaks. The rest of the time, home is still home. No cameras, no microphones, no sense of being watched.
We’re a small, multidisciplinary team: hardware engineers, software developers, product designers and a customer-care team that understands what it feels like to be on the other end of the phone when an alert goes off. We design the hardware in Murcia, manufacture in Europe and provide support directly from our offices.
Because Spain alone is about to have more than ten million people over 65, and most of them want to keep living at home. Care homes aren’t the only answer, and traditional alarm pendants — the kind many people don’t actually wear when they fall — are not enough. We can do better. That’s what we’re trying to do.
